Dr. Porter has also served as: District Overseer for the East Broward District Churches of God, Florida-Cocoa Office, Regional Overseer for the Southern District Churches of God, Florida-Cocoa Office; Member of the State Executive Council of Bishops for the Church of God, Florida-Cocoa Office; Board member of the International Department of Evangelism for the Church of God International Offices in Cleveland, Tennessee. Additionally, he served as Vice President of the St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society and Chairman of the Pauline Salmon Preparatory School.
In February of 2013, Dr. Porter founded Victory Place International Worship Center in obedienceto God’s call to implement the vision given to him by God.His aim is to have a multi-cultural Church under the motto “Interacting For Fellowship – Mixing To Become One.” The ministry focus of Victory Place International Worship Center is to: Honor God, Celebrate People, Change Lives and Impact the World.
He was born in Hanover, Jamaica, and is a graduate of the Bethel Bible College located in Mandeville, Jamaica. In July of 2006, he received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree from the International Theological Seminary of California.
Dr. Porter began fulfilling his call to the ministry in 1977, where as an Evangelist many souls were won for the Lord through his preaching ministry. He began his pastoral ministry in 1982 and pastored a total of six (6) churches while residing in Jamaica. In September of 1990, after migrating to the United States of America, he founded the Ebenezer New Testament Church of God in St. Petersburg, FL, which he pastored for 12 years. In July of 2002, he was appointed Senior Pastor to The Greater Fort Lauderdale New Testament Church of God in Fort Lauderdale, FL, now known as the Christian Community Church of God, where he served faithfully for 10 years.
